Creating a Safety Kit and a Supply Kit
You will need more than just your sUAV when you go out to fly. You will need supplies for your sUAV and safety equipment so that you are prepared in case of an emergency.
Additional Needs
- Spotter (Required if flying “FPV,” that is, with a First Person View camera system)
- Several baseballs to help remove an sUAV that may be stuck in a tree
- Preflight and post-flight checklists
- Safety Glasses
- Fire Extinguisher
- Whistle
- Timer (if one is not included on your transmitter or cell phone)
- First Aid Kit
- Cones, rope, or tape to indicate operator and safety lines
- Flag or Windsock to estimate wind speed and direction
- Compass (or knowledge of your direction and proximity to any airports or aircraft routes)
