Mu Editor for Offline micro:bit Python Programming

What it’s about

This tutorial is about using the offline Mu editor to program a micro:bit module and cyber:bot robot.  However, the online Python Editor is recommended for all Parallax micro:bit tutorials.  Only use the Mu editor if you must program your micro:bit without an Internet connection.

After you finish

Before you start

You will need:

  • A computer with software installation permission
  • Access to the Internet to obtain the Mu installer
  • A micro:bit module with USB cable
  • A USB A to C adapter if your computer only has USB C ports

After you finish

You will be able to:

  • Install and configure the Mu software
  • Connet your micro:bit and test the connection with a Python script
  • Download the cyberbot module and add it to your micro:bit
